Shannon McGrath is an award-winning photographer with 25 years’ experience in the interior design and architecture industry. Shannon is commissioned by pre-eminent architects and designers around Australia and she travels extensively both nationally and overseas photographing interiors and buildings. Her work appears regularly in publications as a regular contributor and she has been invited to photograph several published book projects and artistic series, including her new book Assemblage, published by Thames & Hudson.
Passionate and professional, Shannon’s images are known for their beautiful portrayal of light and form, with a soft realism that celebrates the subject matter. She’s known for her ability to get under the skin of a project, not only capturing its pure essence but also her client’s formal design intent.
Always seeking to add new layers, Shannon has studied Masters in Fine Arts at RMIT to complement her previous training. She’s interested in discovering the extra elements of a project that emerges when she spends time with it, glimpsing into spaces beyond and the intricacies of what lies beneath. She continues to draw on her love for constructed spaces and exploring the interior/exterior nuances of life on a day-to-day level.
She’s proud to help celebrate the wonderful designers, makers and creatives she’s worked with over many years, and to support the design community at large through her own creative endeavors in photography.
